Downtown LA's Late-Night Lounge Worth Finding

Section reservations, craft cocktails, and DJ-driven nights at 6th and Main in the Arts District.

About Us

Some bars in Downtown Los Angeles just exist. The Association has a point of view. Tucked on East 6th Street in the historic core of the city, this lounge and nightclub draws a crowd that takes the weekend seriously, showing up Thursday through Sunday for DJ sets that actually move the room and drinks that give them a reason to stay.

The space carries the kind of energy that builds slowly and peaks late. Reserving a section is the move for groups who want to own their night rather than fight for real estate at the bar. With a 4.3-star rating across hundreds of reviews, the regulars clearly keep coming back, and first-timers tend to understand why once the music locks in.

This is not a place that tries to be everything. It opens when the night is ready for it, closes when 2 AM says so, and in between delivers the kind of lounge experience that makes a Thursday feel like it was worth staying up for.

What We Offer

The Association runs as a lounge bar and nightclub with a focus on the late-night hours that most venues treat as an afterthought. Thursday through Sunday, the doors open to a room built around DJ-driven sound, a full bar program, and the option to reserve private sections for groups who want a dedicated space to celebrate, unwind, or just spend the weekend properly.

The bar delivers cocktails with enough creativity to hold attention across a long night. Section reservations let groups anchor their experience without the usual scramble for seating, making it a go-to for birthday parties, special occasions, and anything that calls for a real night out in the city.

Located at 110 E 6th St, the venue sits in one of Downtown LA's most active nightlife corridors, close enough to everything but distinct enough to feel like a destination rather than a default stop.

"The bald hood tattooed "bouncer" here (if you can even call it that) has an attitude like if you're trying to get into an exclusive club. There was literally no one outside and it says "do you guys have reservations?" We tell him no and it says "next time make reservations" We go in and it's dead inside too. Don't waste your time or money here. Go to las perlas across the street! Way more fun!"

"The Association is always a vibe and they did not disappoint. I had the pleasure of reserving a section for myself and my family to enjoy the one of a kind drinks and dope DJ set. Highly recommend The Association for your next night out. Use Open Table to reserve."

"First time in LA and extremely disappointed. I visited The Association with family and friends and opened a tab with the bartender, making it very clear that I wanted it left open. When I went back for another round, a different bartender had no issue finding me yet later, the original bartender suddenly claimed he never had my card and insisted he’d already closed me out, which was absolutely untrue. He was confidently lying to my face while clearly not in full control (he had been giving out free shots to customers). After asking the other bartenders, they “magically” found my card and tried to say it was turned in from the floor. I watched them pull it directly from the slot where open tab cards are kept. This kind of dishonesty and lack of professionalism is unacceptable and reflects terribly on the establishment. I’ve never experienced anything like this before."

"The first time I went to The Association was for one of their drink class. I initially took the gin class and I loved it. I love the vibe. Small and cozy and amazing drinks. My fave: The Last Word. Must have. I recently attended the bourbon class and it was everything."

"I attend the tequila tasting. I didn't like that the tequila was pre poured and just sitting there. The shots were super small. I been to other tasting and they give you enough to taste. The food paring was one small chili strawberry and 2 square of chocolate. It wasn't a good experience."
